Interim Management Focus
Dr. Ulrich Bergmoser has been a Partner of Executive Interim Partners since January 1, 2022, having already been part of its network since 2015. His professional profile combines experience in finance and strategy consulting with his long-standing roles as Managing Director, Executive Board Member, and Supervisory or Advisory Board Member in restructuring and transformation situations.
Dr. Bergmoser was, as one of two Managing Directors of the APCOA UK Group in London, significantly involved in the highly regarded restructuring, refinancing, and strategic realignment of the parking group. His responsibilities included various strategy and organizational changes as well as group-wide “intelligent” cost-cutting programs, which culminated in the subsequent sale of the group to an institutional investor and a fundamental restructuring of the liabilities side of the balance sheet. His remit covered the Finance, HR, and IT divisions, the “Technical Projects” (Construction) business unit, as well as Legal and Compliance.
Most recently, Dr. Bergmoser was sole operational Managing Director of the Reimann Investors Group, where he was responsible for the reorganization of the investment and fund business and the expansion of the control functions. As Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Handelsbank AG, he contributed to the realignment of the bank, which had been in a difficult situation. Previously, as Finance, HR, and IT Director of the German Football Association (DFB), he designed a new strategic concept for the association’s commercial activities, which led to the establishment of DFB GmbH, where he became Managing Director after successfully completing the post-merger integration of several subsidiaries.
As a member of the management team of the renowned strategy consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton / Booz & Company, Dr. Bergmoser acquired and led complex consulting projects for private and public clients. His particular focus areas included turnaround, procurement/supply chain, and strategy and organizational development.
He began his professional career at the auditing firm Ernst & Young, where, as Audit Manager, he supported clients from various industries in annual audits and special audits as well as in M&A projects.
Dr. Bergmoser is very familiar with the diverse requirements of corporate board work and governance through his long-standing membership on supervisory and advisory boards.
Dr. Ulrich Bergmoser studied Business Administration at the Otto-Friedrich-University of Bamberg (Diplom-Kaufmann) and received his doctorate in economics (Dr. rer. pol.) with distinction from the University of Hamburg. He regularly lectures at universities and contributes as a speaker at professional conferences.
