Torben Sorensen is a Partner at Executive Interim Partners.

Mr. Sorensen went through College in the USA and Denmark. And served in the Danish Armed Forces – as Garde-Husar at the Royal Danish Garde-Husar Regiment. Mr. Sorensen began his professional career as an Auditor by Arthur Andersen & Co. in Denmark (CPA). During his first Year at AA& Co. – he finished his MBA Studies at the Copenhagen Business School (University of Copenhagen). And after a few Years Mr. Sorensen decided to leave the Auditing World. Instead he founded a Med-Tech Company in Malmö Sweden. The Company was selling High-Tech dental equipment to dentists in Scandinavia and Northern Europe. 5 Years later – he decided to sell the Company to a Danish Med-Tech Investor – and accepted a job as CFO by a major Swedish Media Company in Frankfurt/M. Germany. 3 Years later – the Company decided to leave its pan-European Business Strategy – at which time Mr. Sorensen also decided to leave the Company. Since 2003 – Mr. Sorensen has been active as Interim Manager (CEO – CFO – Project Director) – and has had World-Wide Assignments for a broad range of Companies in different Business Sectors. Mr. Sorensen was for more than 20 Years Board Member by a family-owned Steel Construction Company in Denmark (P. Sorensen A/S) – and CEO and Founder of a Venture Capital Company in Switzerland. In addition – Mr. Sorensen is also Founder and CEO of a Management Consultant Company in Germany.

  • Chief Financial Officer (Transformation Manager) at a major international HealthCare Company – Healthcare Services – Trading and Bio-Tech Production – with operations in the DACH region and Hungary (€200 Million Turnover and a Staff of 600).
  • Chief Executive Officer/Chief Restructuring Officer at a German Bio-Tech listed Company with subsidiaries in Austria and the USA. Went through a “Chapter 11” Situation – de-listed the Company and sold the Company to a Financial Investor.
  • Global Strategy Director at a major – listed Italian Industrial Group – executed a Close-Down of a Manufacturing Plant in Denmark (Turnover €100 Million and a Staff of 200). Simultaneously – made sure that the Production was running effectively – and that the entire Production Capacity was transferred to a newly constructed Plant in Slovakia.
  • Senior Vice President/Group CFO at a Private Equity Production Group in Luxembourg – with 3 Production Sites in Germany – 3 in the U.K and in Egypt (€400 Million Turnover and Staff of 1500) Major Turn-Around and Transformation Case that realized a T/O increase of €80 Million – and an EBITDA increase from €18 to €34 Million within 3 Years. Also – managed a Full QAD and HFM Implementation – the creation of a new very profitable Trading Division – as well as major Procurement Projects in cooperation with the E&Y Procurement Expert Team in the UK.
  • Vice President (Finance) at a large B2B Trading Company in Canada (with sales offices in the US – UK and Dubai) A classical Turn-Around and Transformation Case that showed an EBITDA increase of Can$4 Million in just 2 Years.(Turnover Can$130 Million with a Staff of 35). Also managed a Full Axapta Implementation – and a major shake-up of the local Organization.
  • Senior Vice President/Group CFO at the Nacelles Division of the World largest Wind Turbine Producer (€3 Billion Nacelles Turn-Over – 25 Production Sites Worldwide – and a Staff of 5.000). Managed the construction of 3 new production Sites in PRC and the USA – as well as several high-profile SAP and Procurement Projects.
  • Project Director by a High-Tech Production Company in Bangkok Thailand – a Group that had production Companies all over South-East Asia – Africa and the Americas.
